Project Overview

Sukkshma Bio is a pioneering Indian biotech firm, founded by ex-Reliance R&D veteran Digambar Deshpande, to locally manufacture world-class enzymes like Proteinase K, an industry first.

They approached dockyard with no brand, no collateral, and no internal team to manage communications. Just a temporary logotype in a random font and a high-stakes mission:

To win the trust of India's top labs, pharma companies, and universities, all without a reputation yet.

The Challenge

  1. The products were high-value and technical, but the brand had no credibility yet.

  2. The target audience was skeptical and conservative, directors of R&D, pharma buyers, professors, lab technicians.

  3. Everything needed to look scientific, minimal, and trustworthy, not trendy or over-designed.

  4. The client’s team (scientists, not marketers) had no ability to update documents on their own.

  5. The lab was GMP-compliant, but no professional photography was allowed inside. We had to shoot what we could, on mobile phones.

Our Strategy

Three key pillars shaped our work:

  1. Position Sukkshma as globally competent, but locally rooted

  2. Design systems the internal team could actually manage

  3. Anchor everything in deep storytelling, not generic biotech visuals

Brand Story & Naming

The brand draws its name from the Sanskrit word “Sukkshma”, meaning subtle, microscopic, elemental. But we didn’t stop there.

Over 2,600 years ago, sage Rishi Kanad picked up grains from the ritual floor in Varanasi. Others saw leftovers, but he saw the anu, the smallest indivisible particle.

This was the first articulation of atomic theory in recorded human history.

That spirit of curiosity, precision, and reverence for the invisible is exactly what Sukkshma embodies today. Building a biotech company focused on molecular innovation, from scratch.

Corporate Profile Design

Sukkshma needed an editable deck that could:

  1. Handle new product additions weekly

  2. Display scientific tables, graphs, and specs cleanly

  3. Be edited by non-designers, even on mobile phones

We built it in Figma, PowerPoint, and Google Slides — fully modular, with master templates and built-in edit instructions.

The Profile is usable even by PhDs with zero design experience.

Website Strategy

The client initially wanted an ecommerce site. We pushed back.

With no stable pricing, no supply chain, and every transaction being quote-based, we knew ecommerce would create more friction than value.

Instead, we delivered a static site with:

  1. Clean product listings

  2. Enquiry-first structure

  3. No animation (by client request), just clarity and confidence

The Outcome

The brand is now live and selling.

The new corporate profile led to more replies and serious interest from prospects.

Client teams now use, edit, and expand the decks without needing external help.

Website is performing well as a lead-gen tool.
